pink for Andrea

The second post in 2 days.  Amazing!

So I finally finished Andrea’s book in the round robin journal I’ve been doing.  The theme is “paper dolls” and this little sweetheart in her pink dress reminded me of Andrea with her pretty dark hair and perfect pink dress.  Andrea loves Pink with creams and beiges and likes a little gold mixed in, so that’s what I did for her pages.  I was going to put a banner “she could have danced all night” because it’s kind-of a dancing theme, but it would have been over-kill, I think, so I left it off.

The funniest part is this little dance “diary” from a 1929 formal dance that I tied on to the binding ribbon, between my 2 pages.  It’s like a mad-libs kind of thing where the girl filled in the names of the different boys she danced with, and it told a funny story about them.  I assume all the girls received them and had a giggling good time filling them in.  I tried to keep the picture large enough so you can read it.  Isn’t it funny?

So now I’m finally caught up.  These have finally been shipped off to Lori (a week later than I said I would.  Shocked?  No, didn’t think so).  I have one more to do, but it’s still in route, so TECHNICALLY, I’m no longer behind!

blue for Heather

Finally finished the round robin journal I’ve had for Heather for about a hundred years.  I originally drew her some paper dolls, but I decided it was too cutesy and plain for her beautiful journal, so I made her this collage instead.  I hope she likes it.  I made something similar for Andrea and I’ll try to show pictures of it tomorrow.

Heather’s favorite color is blue, and she loves it with brown, so of course I had to use this paper doll that came with a beautiful blue gown.  The crinkled up banners on the other page read “she felt like Cinderella”.  Which is exactly how I would feel in a blue ballgown like this.

I’m trying to get back on track, girls, but it’s SO HARD!  Pregnant at 36 (for me, anyway), is SO much harder than it was at 29 or 32!  I’m trying to just push past it, but WOW, I’m so tired all the time!  I’m looking forward to that second trimester energy burst I remember.  Fingers crossed!  Thank you all for your sweet comments and emails, and prayers for me.  You are such a blessing to me.

I’ll try to be back tomorrow with more round robin journal pictures!

Pregnancy test: $6.00

2 more pregnancy tests to confirm result of first pregnancy test: $11.00

Husband’s reaction when faced with 3 positive pregnancy tests: (@!$#%$*) Priceless.

So if you’ve been wondering why I have been missing from the scene lately, it’s because I’ve been throwing up or sleeping for the last couple of months.  I’m pregnant!  With baby number 3.  And I’m 36 years old.  This is considered “advanced maternal age”.  Hmpff.  Although, I agree, my age feels far more advanced this time around!
I have not been purposely ignoring my blog or you or art.  I just have been wiped out!  If you pray, would you please offer up a prayer for a boring, normal pregnancy, a healthy baby and a smooth transition for my family?  Thank you so much.

I’ve been working on a few things and I am getting some projects ready for classes, but I just seem to be moving in S  L  O  W motion these days.
