Don’t forget to come by TOMORROW, Sunday, November 1 (around noon-ish) for a holiday shop update and free tutorial!  ALSO, I’ll be unveiling my BRAND-SPANKIN-NEW website!  I’ve been working on it for a while, and I hope you like it.  I’ll also be doing a give-away for one of my tinsel nest ornaments.   I hope to see you tomorrow!  xo

Recently, my sweet friend Jennifer Hayslip’s home was featured in the December issue of Romantic Country magazine.  This issue is chock full of gorgeousness, and of course Jenn’s home is no exception!

I was tickled to see a close-up photo of the crown she ordered from me some time ago.  And the publishers (and Jenn, who I’m sure had a hand in it!) were so kind to make sure to include a credit for the crown with my name.  Thank you, Jenn and Romantic Country magazine!  It was so much fun to go to the store, browse the magazines, and see a surprise photo of my crown! That was a fun trip to Wal-mart, girls.

Have a happy Halloween weekend!

I found this on my camera when I went to download sparkly Christmas crafty pictures.  A gift.  I love my boys.   Today, my sister came to pick up my youngest so I could go to the doctor.  It was very quiet in the house.  I got a little teary thinking of how quiet my life will be when they are grown.  I will miss the legos and the laughter and sounds of them in the background.   I’m so grateful for this time.  I know these are the best days of my life.

let’s have a Holiday play day!

Hey, can you meet me here on Sunday, November 1?   I made these SUPER fun, easy, cute “frosty’s hat” candy & nut cup ornaments and I wanna show you how I made them.  I’m going to post a free tutorial on the 1st to officially usher in the holidays!  These are so fun to make.  They’re perfect for the school holiday party, or your Christmas tree.  Perfect for dressing up a “cash” gift for a teenager, or for putting candy and nuts at each place setting for your special holiday dinner.  Also great for diamond earrings hidden on the Christmas tree.  Yeah, I know, happens to me all the time too.

Aren’t they cuuuute?

It’s also my goal to have my Christmas ornaments listed that day too.

I will also do a give-away that day and I am trying to get another tutorial done (but we’ll see, I am a pregnant mother of two young boys, not wonder woman).

To get you in the mood, click HERE  to see the free tutorials I did for Christmas last year.   I hope you’ll come by for this year’s fun day.  I hear those sleigh bells jingling!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

a-bunch-of-ornaments.jpg

I’ve been busy!  I’m really in the Christmas mood.  I think the sudden onset of cool, cloudy, fall weather has me itching to do some sparkly crafting.  I like Halloween, but it feels like as soon as I’m in the halloween mood, the holiday is over!  With Christmas, I feel like I can enjoy it a bit longer.  So I am!

I’ll put these in my etsy shop soon.  I’ll let you know when.  I’m proud of myself for just getting them done!  I’m not sure if I’ll make any more, but hey, I’m happy I did these.

My amazing pal Donna Layton (under the red roof)  is the one who made the tarnished tinsel for me last year.  I LOVE it.  It looks old and perfectly tarnished, but it’s brand new, so it’s strong and not rusty.  I LOVE it so much.  I’m trying to convince her to post a tutorial on her blog.  Maybe you can email and beg her to do it!

I’ll be back soon.  Have a happy Sunday!

two new classes

*****EDIT:  The LOVEY DOVIES class has been rescheduled for Saturday, November 21!******

 a-pedestal-2.jpg

I hope no one has a heart attack from the shock of me writing two posts in two days and even MAKING stuff!  I’m happy to show you two classes I have scheduled for this fall/winter at Paper Crown, in Oklahoma City.  If you’re in the area, give them a call at (405) 848-2389 to sign up!  All of the classes I teach at Paper Crown come with a COMPLETE kit.  So you will have everything you need to complete this project, exactly as you see it here.  All you need to bring are your basic tools (scissors, white glue, etc.) and a glue gun and glue sticks.  Also, cookies.  Cookies would be great.  That’s optional, but highly encouraged.

The first class is scheduled for Saturday, November 14  (**EDIT** rescheduled for November 21!).  This one is called “Lovey Dovies” and it features two little snowy glittery doves on a swing.  The birds, some flowers and the pedestal top are coated with clear glass glitter for a winter-wonderland look.   Aren’t they sweet?

The next class is on Saturday, December 5.  We’ll be making this Silver & Gold crown.  I think it would make the perfect attire for New Year’s Eve!  Perfect for any Christmas or Holiday decor, with it’s neutral silver, white and gold pallet.  Love this one.

I hope I’ll see some of you sweet girls there!  I may be doing one more class before the end of the year, but I’m not sure.

Christmas crafting

This weekend, I was so happy to get to have dinner with my friend Kasse (www.missduffys.com) and her sweet mom and husband.  It was one of those silly, laugh-till-you-cry dinners and we all had the best time.  She lives about 3 hours away from me, OH how I wish she lived closer!

I made her a couple of Christmas ornaments.  Remember I made these last year?  I think I’ll make a new batch this year.  I really got in the Christmas crafting spirit while making them.  This time, I think I’ll use the clear glass glitter, instead of the silver.  It looked so snowy and sweet.

Kasse was in town for a show and her booth was incredible, as always.  Of course, I forgot my camera.  But I did come away with THIS AMAZING pom-pom scarf (photo is by Kasse).  I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.  I’ve worn it twice since then and people have stopped to compliment me both times.  I mean, you can’t beat cream and pom-poms.  Just can’t.

Are you doing any fun crafting lately?  Are you already in the Christmas and Holiday mood, or are you still hangin with Halloween?  I’d love to hear.

Hope you’re having a wonderful day.  This week is fall break, so only 2 days of school (woo hoo!).  And then, this weekend is the big OU vs. Texas game (go Sooners).  I don’t really care that much about football (I could go to jail for that statement around these parts), but I do like the festive feeling of fall football.  Our Sooners aren’t exactly having a stellar season, so I hope they don’t disappoint this weekend.  A football party is way more fun when you’re winning!

I’ll make more ornaments and list them in my etsy shop soon.  I’ll tell you on my blog when I’m done.  Have a great day!
